Day #4838 (Wed., Apr. 5, 2023) – Courtenay & Comox

We had breakfast for free at the Day’s Inn this morning. The lady maintaining the buffet was rather crabby and my wife made note of that.

We drove around the south of Nanaimo to see the areas where the farms are. Low and behold, we passed a land fill!!! What a smell! We stopped off at a local general store, “The Cedar General Store”, and saw that they have DVD’s for rent. I asked the clerk about it and he said that people will often rent them and not return them. I picked up some wagon wheels and strawberry marshmallows for the kids.

Next up was the drive to Parksville where the kids played on the zip line in the park.

We met Amanda at the “Twisted Mint Café”. We offered to pay, but she ended up taking the tab. She bought the kids two Easter cookies. My wife ordered a Reuben Sandwich but they didn’t hear her so she got it to go…

Amanda took us for a tour around Courtenay and Comox.  We even went up north to Black Creek where we got to see an eagle and nest (see photo to the right).

Next up was to check in to our motel, “The Comox Valley Inn”. My wife and Bobby went to the swim area while Katie and I nursed our “illness”. The only thing bad about this pool is that you needed to walk into “the elements” to get to it.
