Day #4841 (Sat., Apr. 8, 2023) – Drive To Victoria

This is our last day in the Courtney & Comox area, so we decided that we would tour around and see some of the sights that we didn’t have time to till now. We visited the “Tudor House” in Comox, visited a $2 for anything Consignment Store in Courtney, and toured around Cumberland as well.

When we were in Cumberland I needed to use the bathroom. I went into a service station and they said that the bathroom was only for employees, so I ended up at the miner’s museum.  I’ve never been to a service station that didn’t let their patron’s use their bathroom before???

On the drive back to Victoria we stopped off at McDonald’s for a break. We ate at McDonald’s and the kids played in the nearby playground while I had a quick nap in the car.

We drove right to Langford where we stopped off at the hotel and got the swim goggles that we left there during our stay.

This evening we toured around just north of Victoria in the Sidney & Saanish areas.  We saw an old guy swimming in the water! (see photo to the right).  It sure must have been cold!!!  We eventually ended up at a Chinese restaurant and had a late night dinner.  The kids had dumplings, my wife and I shared a dish, and I had the “Hot & Sour Soup” that was very sour!

The next step was to gas up the car, check into the “Quality Inn” motel, and get to bed as we need to get up early tomorrow!
