I dropped Bobby off at school this morning. Along the way I told him about the idea I had for a new novel. He liked it and made a suggestion that the gang is hiding the girl from the government. We also talked about the “Glenwood Field Day” and how if it had rained they would have tried to have an “indoor” field day instead.
Katie is back to school this week and soon after she came home this afternoon my wife and her took Maple for a walk. I guess that Maple had an issue with diarrhea and they had to clean her up before she could come back into the house. It’s wonderful having a dog.
When I arrived at Spence’s Farm this evening Bobby was playing the “War” card game with another camp counsellor named “Mary Beth”. I assume that she is Islamic as she was wearing a head covering. Ray, the other counsellor, was trying to shut the card game down as she wanted to leave and was going to her mother’s for dinner this evening.
When they got back Katie and I watched a video of a guy who made an electric guitar out of resin and guitar picks. Beautiful piece of work, but what a whole lot of work. I used to watch quite a few videos like this during the pandemic but have gotten away from it.
It seems one of the best ways to feed Bobby after Spence’s Farm is to have some food ready for him in the car. No iPad to distract him from the primary task of eating. He finished off the “Fish & Chips” (see photo to the right) that my wife made for him. When he got home it was straight into the tub for him to clean off. He asked me to bring him some bacon and a drinkable yogurt later on during the tub session.
On the drive back Bobby mentioned that Lucia and he built mud patties and and are planning to make them into pottery and sell them. Kid games…
This evening I was watching a YouTube video in the bedroom about “The Wallace Line”. It’s an imaginary line in Indonesia in which species are separated. I had never heard of it before and asked Katie to come watch it with me. She had never heard of it either.
