Day #4869 (Sat., May 6, 2023) – The Coronation of King Charles

I was up early this morning (5am) and tuned into the BBC Live on YouTube to see the Coronation of King Charles.  I saw the light on in the living room and thought it was my wife, but Bobby was up.  I put him back to bed.

Somebody spotted this “shadowy figure” on the coronation footage.  Looks like the “Grim Reaper”, but probably just another Church figure in a robe (see photo to the right).  What if Charles dies in a few days?  Will stories about the Grim Reaper being at Westminster Abbey abound?  Interesting novel plot.  I showed Katie and Bobby the footage later in the day.

Berkshire-Hathaway’s Shareholder’s Meeting was on today, and I watched Warren Buffet answer questions live via YouTube.  He’s one of the most charming and funny men I have ever seen…  He said that you should write your own obituary and figure out how to live up to it.

Charlie Monger added at one point, “The toxic people who are trying to fool you, or lie to you, or who are not reliable in meeting their commitments, the great lesson of life is to get them the hell out of your life, and do it fast!”.  The crowd erupted in applause!  Good lesson for Bobby and Katie to learn…

The kids had their group viola/violin lesson this morning.  They took Ayra was well.  Afterwards Bobby had a soccer match.  He made a spectacular save when he was a goalie.  I told him that the important thing is that he learns from his mistakes and does better next time.

When my wife drove over to Arnesa’s house to drop Ayra off they invited them in for dinner.  Dzenen bought a rotisserie chicken.
