Day #4885 (Mon., May 22, 2023) – Both Kids Home
As the title states, both kids are home today. Bobby is feeling much better, but since the doctor told us to keep him at home due to the fact he might be contagious, he’s home. Katie has broken out in a rash, a sure sign of “HFMD”, so she is home as well. The plan is to let Bobby go to school tomorrow, but we’ll see how he feels. Katie will be home for a few days…let’s see if the rash breaks into blisters.
Bobby got some new sneakers courtesy of Amazon today as his old ones have developed a hole in the toe (not sure exactly why). They are a bit big, but we will keep them, as he will probably grow into them by next year. We’ll just get him another pair a size smaller.
Bobby made a pancake out of Play Doh today (see photo to the left).
We were watching a YouTube video in the living room about the debate on if you should wear shoes into the house or not. Interesting discussion, but when you consider pets, nobody even thinks of not letting them inside with all that they have on their feet from gallivanting around outside in “who knows what”.
I found a great YouTube channel this afternoon. It’s called the “Real History” channel and has a lot of small history lessons with lots of graphics. I’m going to show it to Katie and Bobby…it will be a great way to learn history in a fun fashion.
I talked to the kids about what to do this summer, with hopes of perhaps busking being a good part of their agenda to earn some money. Neither kids wants to do it, so unless I can convince them of the benefits I doubt it will materialize into reality.
Early this morning I purchased the Kindle book “Millionaire Kids” for $0.99. It highlights the various ways that kids have gotten rich, and I’m thinking that I will read stories to the kids from time to time to give them an idea on how to be an entrepreneur…
