Day #4899 (Mon., June 5, 2023) – Last Week Of School!
Today is the last week of school! Yippee! Bobby wanted to go to school early this morning, so we left at about 7:05 am. We were so early in fact that the drop of line hadn’t even moved, and we waited there till about 7:28 when movement began. On the way to school we talked about “Cookie The Fish”. Apparently the novelty of this fish has worn off, and everybody pretty well takes it for granted. Bobby did tell me that he got to “take care of the fish” when his turn came one week.
My wife took Katie to see the orthodontist and formulate a plan for braces. First step, to remove two baby teeth. It looks like she will have braces by the end of the summer, but we’ll see.
I picked up Bobby at the bus stop this afternoon (see photo to the left). Not even a little blip on the radar of the school bus app. I had no idea when it would arrive, so I went at 3 pm and waited. It rolled around at about 3:12 pm. Technology is great until it is not.
I took the kids horseback riding this afternoon. There were a couple of ponies there today. Flies were everywhere in the barn…disgusting. I’m not sure if nobody cleaned out the stalls today or “what”, but it was like a fly reunion. I was feeling quite tired this afternoon, and I saw Bobby yawn while riding, so he was tired as well. He asked me at one point how much longer the lesson was.
I drove the kids home and it’s official now, they hate my car. The main reason for the dislike today is the fact that the air conditioning is not working. I think I will take it down to Lloyd’s Tire and see what’s up with it. It’s an old car, if you call 1995 old, but it might just need some air conditioning fluid. I don’t plan to spend a lot of money to fix it if it’s going to be an expensive repair. To me, cranking the window down is just fine.
