I decided to have Daddy/Son Day #67 today. It started off with some breakfast, whittling, and culminated with a movie.
For breakfast Bobby had the “Beyond – Breakfast Sausages” that I picked up at Harris Teeter the other day. He loved them, but said that having a side of maple syrup made them extra special.
For dessert I gave him four chocolate chip cookies. Two Chips A’Hoy regular and two soft, with a glass of milk. He preferred the soft. Me too…but the problem is that you can eat more of them…
After breakfast I gave Bobby a pencil and we sat on the bench outside our front entrance and practiced our “whittling”. Bobby whittled all the paint off the pencil first.
My wife took Katie to the orthodontist to get a “map” on how to implement her braces. They went shopping at Marshall’s afterwards.
For lunch today I made Bobby a “McDonald’s Like” cheeseburger. To do this I cut a “Beyond Beef” patty in half after cutting it, and then put a slice of American cheese on top. Some ketchup, a couple of pickles, and a bun and you’re good to go. Bobby loved them! So much in fact that he asked for three of them. I made two, and some french fries as well, as we are going to a movie and he will be having popcorn.
For dessert, I handed Bobby a Snicker’s ice cream bar! I picked up a package of six the other day at Aldi. I had one, and after Bobby had his first he proceeded to finish off the box! I had him give the last one to Katie, and Katie asked for more…but they were all gone at that point!
I took Bobby to Lumina this afternoon to see the movie “Transformers – Rise of the Beasts” (see photo to the left). We had the theatre to ourselves at first, but four people came and sat down later on.
Bobby said that he only wanted a drink, but I said we might as well get a combo meal as he will have a couple of hours to munch on the popcorn. He finished the whole meal, and in fact, asked me to go out and get him a refill of lemonade and a bit of ice 1/2 way through the movie as he didn’t want to miss anything. As you wish your majesty… 🙂
This evening I picked up my Camry at Lloyd’s Tire. It cost $1000 to fix the air conditioner, and they gave us a discount for paying in cash.
