Day #4932 (Sat., July 8, 2023) – California Pizza Kitchen

I went to Walmart this morning.  While there I picked up some Mentos and two large bottles of Coke.  I’m going to finally do that experiment that you see online where you put Mentos into Coke and it “explodes” like a gusher.

I also picked up some chocolate muffins and strawberry cake slices that were on sale at 50% off.  They kept the regular barcode on the bottom of the packages so when I checked out this was the price taken.  There was a barcode on the top next to the sale price.  When I told the attendant this was confusing he seemed to dismiss my concerns by saying that “A lot of people already know this”…  Well, evidently not everyone!  How hard would it be to use a Sharpie and mark out original barcode as you put the new one on the top!  I wonder what my father and grandfather would think about the customer service you get these days.

My wife took the kids to their group viola/violin lesson this morning, then Bobby to the pool.  Katie stayed home to read her “Twilight” book again.  She also chatted online with Michael, her fellow orchestra member who plays the violin.

This evening I made a frozen California Pizza Kitchen pizza for the kids (see photo to the left).  It was on sale at Harris Teeter the other day.  The cheese was much tastier than the other frozen pizzas we get, and it better be given the price!  It’s about twice the price of the Baron’s pizza we usually get, and the only reason I picked it up was because it was on sale.

Batman often takes to meowing in the evenings when Maple is helping put Bobby to bed.  I will use Alexa to alert Katie and she will either feed Batman or take him to her room for a cuddle.
