Day #4937 (Thu., July 13, 2023) – Katie’s Poem

Bobby went to Spence’s Farm Summer Camp this morning but Katie did not.  My wife took her to the doctor and she said that she might have a stomach bug.  She had a nap this afternoon so she definitely has something…

We signed up Bobby for soccer camp this fall.  It’s nice to see that he will be getting some exercise to mitigate all the online play and sitting in school.

I picked up each of the ZBars flavors that I could see at Harris Teeter this afternoon (see photo to the left).  They had the “Iced Oatmeal Cookie” flavor today, which Ethan likes so much.

My wife IM’d me a list of things that Bobby could leave behind at Spence’s Farm, and Bobby and I went over this list as we prepared to go home this afternoon.  Here’s the list: shirt, shorts, socks, crocs, backpack, lunch bag, lunch box, swim goggles, and two water bottles.

Ethan didn’t come over this afternoon.  His mother wants to ensure that he doesn’t get what Katie has.

Katie developed a poem today:

Her eyes shone a glistening brown, shimmering against the light.

Her lashes dropped downward, like flowing curtains to the silent night.

Her eyebrows lay as perfect as she herself.

Her hair stood in light brown, soft curls, a lion’s mane unable to be helped.

I stared at her, not finding a path clearer.

The most beautiful girl in the whole wide world, was the one I met in the mirror.

Bobby finished off the “Iced Oatmeal” ZBars this evening.  I managed to get the last one out of the package before the empty box went into the bin.
