Day #4947 (Sun., July 23, 2023) – Daddy/Daughter Chat #1

We took a family drive down Franklin Street this morning to look at the Mediterranean Deli which had a fire yesterday afternoon.  The owner was selling his wine stock, so there were a ton of people lined up to buy that.

I took Katie to Starbucks on Franklin for Daddy/Daughter Chat Day #1.  Katie had a “caramel frap cream base” (which her friend Nico had when they went to Starbucks), and I had a cappuccino.  A lady who reminded me of Miss Laura, Katie’s former preschool and piano teacher, waited on us.

We talked a bit about why she is having headaches and made comments about the 1980s music that they were playing in the background.  Katie said that she liked the song “The Two Of Us” that was playing.  I looked it up and it was a hit back in 1980 by.  I told her that for her to like this song is like me liking a hit song from 1947 back in the day (a 23 year time difference).  The song “Peg O’ My Heart” by the Harmonicats came up in a Google search.  We laughed about that.

We also laughed about the couple who were having a date over coffee with a romantic view of the garbage container (see photo to the right).  Only the finest in imported Italian garbage from Europe I’m sure… 🙂

Katie told me that they think that her headaches is being caused by the Ibuprofin she is taking.  I told her that there are other medications that she can take for headaches, including natural ones, and that she should discuss this with her mother.

Katie is freaking out about the horse riding lesson at Spence’s Farm tomorrow, mostly because of the heat.  I told her to drink plenty of water before and after the lesson and to be sure to stay out of the direct sunlight when possible.

We were at Starbucks for about an hour and a half and had to rush back home as Katie is having an online art class.

Bobby played online with Ethan today, so he made it safely to West Virginia yesterday.  I’m not sure what they are feeding Ginger, but she has been letting off DEADLY gas these past few days…  She will sit in Bobby’s room waiting for him to throw her the ball and stinking up the place.
