Day #4966 (Fri., Aug. 11, 2023) – Funnel Cakes

This morning I gave Bobby the ping pong balls that I picked up at the Dollar Store a while back.  There is stuff on the dining room table, so we couldn’t play table tennis.  Instead I showed him a dorm game where you bounce a ping pong ball off a flat surface, in this case a floor, into a mug.  Harder than you may think…

Bobby and I made funnel cakes this afternoon (see photo to the left).  It was a good opportunity to teach Bobby a lesson on hot oil and that you should never put water into hot oil as it will sputter and could burn you.  They turned out pretty good, and the whole family liked them, but you don’t get as many as you would think you would.

Bobby was kind of fussy this afternoon so his mother put him down for a nap.  He kept saying how tired he was, but once his head hit the pillow he was out.  He needed a nap so that he would be rested for tonight’s festivities.  My wife took him and Katie to the “Paperhand Puppet Intervention” at the Forest Theater this evening.  I dropped them off and picked them up.

This evening I also went to get some milk and potatoes at Harris-Teeter.  Just these two items, so it really was a run to get some “milk and potatoes”.
