Day #4975 (Sun., Aug. 20, 2023) – Tropical Storm Hilary
It’s really hard to copy and paste and edit on an iPhone. I’ll sure be happy when my new DELL arrives tomorrow evening!
I saw a couple of interesting videos early this morning. One was a guy who practices karate and has two knee replacements. Maybe I could do karate with Bobby after all! The other video was in regards to kneeling after having two knee replacements. This video basically says that it’s a mater of conditioning and you start off with comfy pillows and progress to hardwood floors.
I asked Bobby if he wanted to go see the movie “Blue Beetle” this afternoon but he was not in the mood. He went swimming with his mother at Clark Pool this afternoon instead.
I took Katie out for Daddy/Daughter Day #135 today. We went to the Starbucks location where MLK intersects Hwy #40. We went through the drive thru as Katie didn’t want to see or meet or talk to people. I got an Americana and Katie had some kind of a caramel caffeine drink. With so much sugar in her drink the caffeine was easier to tolerate.
Katie and I drove around and looked at the fancy houses and talked about novels and movie scripts. We drove past Sharon’s house and even progressed to the “Carolina Friends” school, where Dylan goes to school. A tree went down over a house near Spence’s Farm (see photo to the right).
Katie and I talked about this video idea of the “Shitty Trailer Park”, where rich people are trying to get in, but are having problems. The premise is that this trailer park has covenants that people who move in must adhere to, and rich people don’t always meet the criteria. For example, they have to promise to hide their Ferrari so to not tarnish the trailer park’s image.
Bobby was using the “Weed Wacker” on the front lawn when we arrived back home. It broke under strange circumstances and we’re trying to figure out if Bobby dropped it or something.
Katie and I watched some videos this evening where owners were teaching their dogs to paint.
Tropical Hilary is due to hit Southern California this evening. What a rare occurrence. There has not been a tropical storm come through Southern California in decades… Global Warming?
