Day #4981 (Sat., Aug. 26, 2023) – Pool With Slide

We rented a pool with a slide at a private residence near Jordan Lake this morning (see photo to the left).  Ethan’s mom went halves with us, so at $89 per hour, and a two hour rental, we each paid around $89 for the event, which was from 10 am till noon.

We thought that the highlight of the pool would be the slide, but it was not as great as we had hoped.  Ethan and Bobby went down a few times, and the rest of us didn’t go down it at all.  We enjoyed the warm water of the pool.  The end of the pool, not shown in the photo, was 8 feet deep.

There was a basketball court on one end of the pool for us to enjoy.  There was also a little “putt putt” green on the other end.

The owner purchased two lots on either side of the residence, but apparently the neighbors are still complaining about the noise when he has parties.  I talked to him and he is a VP at Adobe and since they don’t have an office here in Raleigh, he gets to work from home.  He said that his daughter is hoping to run track at the Olympics, so he might be working from Paris, France next year as this is where a lot of the trials and competition will be held.

I went to the gym this afternoon for a quick workout, and stopped off at Harris Teeter on the way home.  They had some chocolate covered cherries on sale, so I picked up a couple of packages of those.  I also picked up some “Brown Cow Delight” ice cream, which Bobby said was even better than Moose Tracks ice cream.
