I took Bobby to Glenwood shortly after 7 am this morning. On the way to school he asked if I could turn the heat on as it was cold. It seems just like yesterday that I got the air conditioning in the car fixed so that the kids would not have to sweat in the summer heat.
On the drive to Glenwood Bobby mentioned that he had music class with Miss Coleman yesterday and he thinks that he will be having PE today. We also talked about how Mr. Yang went back to China and we’re not sure who will be taking his class on Wednesdays and Thursdays this year.
This afternoon I stopped off at Harris Teeter to pick up some mascarponi cheese. Katie is really into it on bread these days. She also had a desire for some onion rings, so I came across some “Red Robin” onion rings that I thought she would like (see photo to the left).
I picked up Bobby at Spence’s Farm this evening. My wife made some ravioli for him to eat in the car on the way home. Unfortunately he dropped his fork on the floor and couldn’t reach it till I stopped off for gas and he was able to retrieve it.
On the drive home Bobby told me that he had some strawberry parfait for lunch today, one of his favorites, and that Mr. Ma has taken over Mr. Yang’s Chinese culture class. I asked him if this class was much better this year and he said YES with enthusiasm. I guess he doesn’t always speak in Chinese like Mr. Yang so Bobby can at least understand what is going on now.
I have created a family budget spreadsheet in Google docs that we will be using to track our expenses and make sure that we are on track financially. Categories and such will need to be adjusted as we move forward, but at least it’s a start.
On Monday Katie met a girl named Tess on her first day back at Phillips. Well, Tess is now out with COVID and Katie is not feeling well. Hopefully she doesn’t have COVID!
