Day #5002 (Sat., Sept. 16, 2023) – Bobby’s First Trophy
The whole family drove to martial arts class this morning as today Bobby will be testing for his yellow “stripe” for his white belt. It was quite the elaborate affair, with the higher belts performing various stunts like breaking boards, and punches, kicks, and katas. Bobby tested by performing Form 1 with fellow white belts. In the end he not only received his yellow stripe inside his white belt, but also a trophy which the instructor said comes to everyone who completes Form 1. You can see the pride in his face in the photo to the right (see photo to the right).
Up next today was Bobby’s soccer practice. The whole family went to this as well. Ethan is on Bobby’s soccer team this year. We saw Stephen and Guenther there as well, but Guenther is on another team. Bobby got a new soccer shirt, and after getting acquainted with the team and a few minutes of soccer practice, the whole team assembled on the other end of the field for photos.
Later today my wife, Katie, and Bobby went to Ensar’s Birthday Party at Jordan Lake. I guess that Bobby and Ayra chummed around for most of the day while Ensar was Katie’s little shadow. I’m not exactly sure why but Ensar has really taken to Katie. They had a great time together.
