Day #5042 (Thu., Oct. 26, 2023) – Discord Server

On these cold mornings when I drive Bobby to Glenwood I like to put the car heater on as he is cold. The problem is, it’s not working properly and will fog up the windshield. This morning I put some dish detergent on the windshield as it will supposedly help. It helped some, but there is still fog. I might have to take the car in to Lloyds Tire to have it fixed, but they don’t have a mechanic right now so I might wait for a week or so.

I picked up Bobby at Glenwood this afternoon as the bus schedule is so erratic these days and he has martial arts class. The photo to the left shows the upcoming events. Tomorrow is a Halloween Party and next Monday is, you guessed it, another “Teacher Work Day”!!!

On the way home we discussed “Discard Servers”, what they are and how they are used. Bobby gave me his version and here is what Bard says:

A Discord server is a community of users who can chat, voice chat, and video chat with each other. Servers are organized into channels, which can be text-based or voice-based. Users can join multiple servers and swap between them easily.

Discord servers are used for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Gaming: Discord is a popular platform for gamers to communicate and coordinate with each other. Servers can be used to find teammates, share strategies, and discuss games.
  • Education: Discord can be used for online classes, study groups, and other educational activities. Servers can be used to share resources, ask questions, and collaborate on projects.
  • Socializing: Discord is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, or to meet new people. Servers can be used to chat about anything and everything, from hobbies and interests to current events and pop culture.
  • Business: Discord can be used for business communication, such as team meetings, customer support, and sales. Servers can be used to share files, collaborate on projects, and build relationships with customers.

The instructors really gave the kids a workout in martial arts class this evening. Bobby finished off all the water in his water bottle during the break. He opted out of going to Yopop this evening to get home and drink more water… 🙂

Cecily did not go to school today. Perhaps upset that Katie no longer wants to be friends?

The cheese I got at Aldi yesterday was bad, so I returned it to Aldi this evening. Not only did they let me exchange it for one that was not bad, they gave me my money back, meaning that I effectively got the cheese for free. What a great place Aldi is!

Raising Cane’s is set to open up at the corner of Franklin & Columbia on November 7th. Bobby can’t wait!
