Day #5055 (Wed., Nov. 8, 2023) – Cheez Whiz
Bobby is home sick today, but Katie went to school. Bobby had diarrhea this evening, so he will be home from school tomorrow as well.
Bobby is doing a bit of painting these days. He painted a couple of sheets of paper black, and I was telling him of this paint that glows in the dark. We ordered it for him via Amazon. It will be here in a few days.
Katie has expressed a desire for the nachos like they have at school and wanted me to look for the cheese when I was out shopping. When I was a kid we used to use “Cheez Whiz” so I tried to find that at Harris Teeter. I went up and down the aisles and could not find it, so I asked one of the nearby employees. They tried as well, but could not find it. So, I went to the customer service desk, and showed them a picture on my phone. They said they thought it might be in the dairy, so I tried there. I still could not find it, but there was Velveeta, and a Harris Teeter knock-off (see photo to the right), so I thought I would try that. I made some nachos Katie and they came out great, but you need to liquify it in a bowl before spreading them on the nachos. I think the interesting take from this is the fact that someone that was so predominant in our lives when I was a kid, “Cheez Whiz” is almost an afterthought these days. Go figure…
This evening we called up Amanda, our friend in Courtenay to keep in touch. She was telling us her woes of this house on Atlas Road, that although had close to 2 acres of land, which is a treat up there, is in dire need of a “lot of love”… 🙂
