Day #372 (Mon., Jan. 10, 2011) – Freezing Rain

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to go to work today. There is snow in Fayetteville, but it has not reached the Raleigh area yet. I decided to brave the roads and go to work.
My wife gave Katie a bucket filled with Little People zoo animals. This kept her very busy for a while. When she checked on her a bit later, all animals were transferred into another bucket (together with a page from a book). See the photo to the left for confirmation.
There are forecasts for snow and freezing rain tonight, so I left work a bit early. Not sure if we will be able to navigate the roads tomorrow.
10pm and Katie is still up. We can hear the freezing rain hitting the window, so there is no way we will be able to go for a drive tonight. I played with Katie on my bed for a bit. She likes it when I throw the blanket over her head and peel it off. After a bit her head started to hit the mattress, so I knew that she was done. Mom scooped her up and off to bed she went…(but wait)…
Wishful thinking. One hour later…11pm and chipmunk is finally asleep. All her toys were on the floor (she loves to throw them out of the crib).
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Katie likes it when I throw a blanket over her head.
