Day #5101 (Sun., Dec. 24, 2023) – Christmas Eve
My Advent Day #24 coffee flavor for today, (the last day of the Advent Calendar), was “Mint Mocha Coffee”.
We started to watch Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase this morning, but my wife and Katie could not take the stupid humor, so we turned it off 1/2 way through.
I dropped off at Panera Bread for a coffee this afternoon courtesy of the “Sip Club”. The place was pretty empty. I asked Katie if she wanted to go back to Starbucks today to get one of those “Gingerbread Latte’s” that she liked so much, but she declined.
I thought I would have Daddy/Son Chat #6 today with a special trip to Cane’s so that Bobby could try it out for the first time. It’s taken long enough to open, and today is the day, or so we thought. We arrived there just after 3 pm and low and behold, it had just closed. They closed early today so that their employees could have Christmas Eve off. So, Bobby and I ended up at the ole’ reliable McDonalds. We were the only ones there (see photo to the left). Bobby had his usual double cheeseburger meal, and I brought home a fruit punch for Katie. We learned from last time and had no ice today! The ice in the drink last time melted and the resulting concoction was nothing more than flavored water!
Bobby was really eager to open a Christmas gift this evening so my wife and I let him. He chose the heaviest gift, which was a multi-tool that I picked up for him at Aldi a while back (see photo to the right). It has a hammer, plyers, a standard screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver, a saw, etc. I knew that he would love this, and he did!
