Day #5102 (Mon., Dec. 25, 2023) – Christmas Day
Merry Christmas everyone! It’s just going to be the immediate family this year. Arnesa and her kids are in the mountains of NC, and Dzenen is in Bosnia.
Here’s a list of the various “major gifts” this year:
Bobby received a retro video game player (see photo to the right) and a violin shirt. He later told me that either the video game player or the multi-tool he received last night is his favorite gift. The advantage of this particular video game player is that it requires only batteries…no internet. Great for those long van rides that bore Bobby so much!
Katie received a Taylor Swift album (see photo to the right), a paint holder set, and a viola shirt.
Mom and Dad both received eye glass holders so their eye glasses will always be clean, and never be lost (hopefully).
Maple and Batman both received treats. Maple promptly looked around to find a place to “stash” her bone. We were later to find it in Katie’s laundry hamper.
Since there is nobody coming for Christmas dinner today we decided that we would order Chinese food from the Hunan Chinese restaurant down the road (in front of Flyleaf Books). The kids wanted dumplings! We also had sweet & sour chicken, hot and sour soup, and vegetable fried rice.
This evening Katie and I enjoyed watching the NFL Chiefs & Oakland game. Taylor Swift was in the stands cheering her boyfriend Travis Kelce on. Alas, the Chiefs lost!
