Day #5105 (Thu., Dec. 28, 2023) – Die-Cast Cars

My wife took the kids to South Point Mall this morning so that they could use up some of the gift cards they received. Katie didn’t find anything she wanted, so she decided to wait till the spring fashions come out. Bobby on the other hand picked out three die-cast model cars (see photo to the left). They had Chick-Fil-A for lunch, them home.

There was a bit of drama this afternoon in that Bobby didn’t feel up to going to martial arts class today. I had a chat with him and he does still want to continue going to martial arts classes, just not today. He said that he was feeling tired and his mother put him to bed for a nap. By the time he got up it was too late for martial arts class anyway. He has been sick for quite a while, and perhaps his energy just drains at times. I know that I feel the same after having all those rounds of antibiotics. I told Bobby that in the future we could just go to class and if he felt he could not continue, come home. I suspect that once he gets to class he will have enough energy to finish it, but if not, no biggie…

This evening the kids and I watched the NFL football game with the Cleveland Browns play the NY Jets via Amazon on the television in the living room. The strange thing about these games being streamed by Amazon is that you cannot record, pause, or rewind. I told the kids that this was like the way I used to watch television when I was their age. No recording or streaming devices back then, just two television stations and everything was LIVE baby! Katie has really been getting into watching football as of late. I played Wordle on my phone with the kids during the lull in the action.
