Day #5113 (Fri., Jan. 5, 2024) – Sparring Tonight!

The photo to the right shows the birthday hat and sash that Katie’s friends made her wear around the school yesterday. I offered to take her and her friends to Starbucks for a “Day After” party, but she was not interested.

I took Bobby to school this morning and then went to Panera Bread for a coffee afterward.

My arm is starting to feel “less pain” since the COVID booster shot I received the other day, so I had quite a good nap when I got home.

I picked Bobby up at the bus stop after 3 pm today as the bus didn’t leave Glenwood till 3 pm. On the drive home from the bus stop he told me that the bus has a lot more kids these days (probably because they cannot find enough bus drivers). He told me that the kids packed him in on his seat and he was near the window so he could not more. He told me that the air was full of carbon dioxide as there were so many kids, and he was wondering if he was “claustrophobic”. I said maybe, but this was usually about people who were scared of confined spaces, like my friend Carter who was afraid to take an elevator as it was a confined space.

When we got home I made Bobby a couple of tuna fish sandwiches. The plan was to take him to martial arts sparring class tonight, but since his mother hasn’t been there in a while he wanted her to go see him spar, so she took him. He looks like the “Michelin Tire” guy with all his sparring equipment on. When he got home it was bath time, then bed!
