Day #5128 (Sat., Jan. 20, 2024) – “Shatter Me”

My wife took the kids to viola/violin class this morning, then to skating lessons at the Hillsborough Sportsplex after that. I went shopping for supplies at Aldi.

One of the special treats that I picked up at Aldi this morning was a “Pizza Cookie” (see photo to the right). This is very much like the “Insomnia Cookies” that cost so much and are available at late night hours for College kids. This “Pizza Cookie” was delicious and the kids loved it!

Katie has been reading the book series “Shatter Me” (see photo to the left). She tells me that it is all over “Tik Tok” these days. My wife reserves the series at the library, which causes problems as a number of them have arrived and are ready to pick up, but the one that is next in the series, Book #2, has not arrived as of yet. Katie finished the first book of “Shatter Me” today!

My wife and Katie cleaned up the cabinet behind where our Christmas Tree used to be. Some of the stuff we are keeping, and some of the stuff we will be throwing out. Katie cleaned up the mantel above the fireplace as well.

There were two NFL playoff football games on TV tonight. The Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans, and the San Francisco Forty-Niners defeated the Green Bay Packers. Tomorrow the Chiefs face off against the Bill and there is a group called the “Bills Mafia” that is making derogatory comments about her. I remember the days when parents used to tell their kids to play nice and be respectful and shake hands after games. I guess those days are gone…

I found this online… “Bills Mafia” was coined in 2011 by diehard Bills fansĀ Del Reid, Breyon Harris and Leslie Wille. It started as an inside joke on X, formerly Twitter, and has transformed into a beloved community that’s embraced by the franchise and players.
