Day #5134 (Fri., Jan. 26, 2024) – Family Haircuts
No school for the kids today as it’s yet another “Teacher Work Day”. We took this opportunity to have haircuts, so all four of us drove out to see CiCi this afternoon. You can see Katie getting her haircut in the photo to the left while Bobby sweeps the hair. He loves the fancy vacuum that they have at Blue Bamboo, where CiCi works.
I had Katie put a couple of drops of nail polish on my eyeglass screws. An ole’ camera repair trick to make sure that they don’t loosen with time.
I took Bobby to martial arts “sparring” class this evening. In this evenings class they got to “attack” a practice dummy. At one point they apparently told the kids to go “all out” and after a few kicks Bobby threw the practice dummy to the ground, got on top of it, and started to pound it with his fists.
We really miss Master Choi. It had more of a family atmosphere as he was there with his wife and two kids. The current teacher is very accomplished, but I think he is more interested in teaching than making the experience enjoyable for the kids. He doesn’t pass out bars for the belts as freely as Master Choi as well, which can discourage kids. We’ll see how it goes.
Katie is very excited about the sleepover she will be having with Tinsley and Leah tomorrow night. I said that I would pick up any special foods that they want, but it looks like my wife is going to do that with Katie on the drive back from ice skating lessons on Saturday.
