Day #5156 (Sat., Feb. 17, 2024) – Bobby Breaks His Wrist!
My wife took the kids to viola/violin practice, then picked up Leah, and then went to Hillsborough for ice skating lessons. Unfortunately, Bobby fell and hurt his wrist, so that started off today’s chain of unfortunate events.
I met my wife and the kids at Urgent Care near the intersection of MLK and Weaver Dairy Road. Unfortunately it was closed, so while my wife drove Bobby to UNC Urgent Care, I took Leah home. Katie and I then went home to wait for developments.
My wife was with Bobby till late in the evening. They decided that they didn’t need to have surgery, but could just “position” the bone back into place and set it with a cast. He screamed when they “adjusted” it, but they were amazed at how calm he was given the break that they could see on the X-Ray. After it was all said and done, you can see Bobby with his new cast in the photo to the left. They gave him an iPad to enjoy during the process.
Later this evening, Katie and I went to McDonald’s to pick up the “Two Cheeseburger Meal” with ice cream at Bobby’s request. Katie had the same. We then drove out to the UNC Urgent Care to drop Bobby’s order off. My wife was waiting at the entrance. Once everything was all done, my wife drove Bobby home.
