Day #5169 (Fri., Mar. 1, 2024) – Carolina Blue Cast!

Katie is home sick for yet another day.

This morning my wife took Bobby to the orthopedic nurse practitioner. The x-ray after two weeks looked as expected, they changed a cast to a new one (the original one was cut in half and wrapped around since Bobby’s arm was very swollen). He got to choose a color and went with Carolina blue which is the team color of our local university. Even fire trucks are blue here. Bobby has three more weeks left in this cast and then will have to wear a brace for a month and after that he’ll be wearing that brace while ice-skating and during taekwondo. 😊 The new cast has all his fingers uncovered, so he can start using them which will help in keeping the muscles working. We’ll even trying playing the violin soon.

When Bobby did finally end up at school today he had pizza for lunch, and then pizza again for dinner this evening. Daddy experimented with some rice paper vegan bacon in the air fryer, which turned out pretty good…

My wife organized the laundry room this afternoon (see photo to the left).

I cooked the large chocolate chip cookie that I got at Aldi the other day and cut it into three pieces so that my wife, Katie, and Bobby could each have the same amount. I didn’t want Bobby to eat the whole thing like he did the Lepre Cones!

Incidentally, Bobby went to bed quite early this evening. All this “cast stuff” has been rather exhausting for him!
