I dropped Bobby off at Glenwood this morning and then went to Panera Bread for a “Cup of Joe”. On the drive to school I told Bobby that one of my regrets is that I didn’t go through my text books cover to cover on the first day of class to get an “overview” of the subject. I told him that this helps his mind prepare for what is to come, and they will be better able to absorb this new material once it is introduced in detail.
I sold about $30,000 of NVDA stock in my ROTH account today to help provide the down payment for our new house in Courtenay.
We had a talk with Matthew from RBC about our mortgage. Approved, only need the appraiser to give the go ahead. We had an inspection on our new house this afternoon and talked to the inspector afterward as we were driving Bobby back from Glenwood (you can see him waiting in the photo to the left).
My wife sent the following email to the school we are hoping Bobby will be able to attend in Courtenay: We are in the process of buying a house close to the Huband Elementary school. Our son Bobby will be attending the 4th grade next year. We are wondering if there will be a spot for him or is the school too full for new kids? I read that if there is no place, kids would be assigned to Brooklyn Elementary. We would love him to go to Huband Park – we heard so many great things about it. We are currently living in the US and Bobby can’t have PHN until we move to Courtenay. We will sign the final house paperwork next week, but won’t be able to close until the beginning of June because of the tenants currently living in it – need to give a 2-month notice. My understanding is that to register Bobby, he has to have a PHN and we have to have a purchased house. Is that correct? My husband is Canadian, as well is Bobby, so immigration paperwork is not an issue. Do we have any hope if we register him only in June? Or is there anything we could do now?
Katie’s orchestra dress rehearsal was after school today. My wife drove her in the van. The concert is tomorrow.
