Day #5203 (Thu., Apr. 4, 2024) – Master Joe Gets Married!

I had my monthly “allergy shot” this morning. My allergies are certainly better than last year, but not 100% gone. The lady who gives me the dose says that it will be better within 6 months, and will take about 2 years to become fully effective.

Ethan came over for a play date with Bobby today. They mostly played online, even though they were sitting next to each other. Modern times…

Bobby’s soon to be “former” martial arts instructor, Master Joe, just got married (see photo to the right).

Bobby has been accepted into Huband Park Elementary and Katie has been accepted to Charles P. Vanier Secondary.

Out of curiosity, I asked the moving company how much our moving bill would be if we didn’t ship the desk from the master bedroom. He quoted the price for the armoire, which he said is about 236 lbs, and would reduce the moving cost by $243. So it’s about $1 per pound at our current overall weight to move our stuff to Courtenay, even though the rate is not linear.

Katie mentioned that the new kitchen we will be moving to is inspiring her to learn how to cook!

In one of my packages was an old AM/FM radio (see photo to the left). I put batteries in it, and it worked. I thought Bobby might like to have it, but when I demonstrated how you needed to tune to the station you wanted, and then wait for your favorite artist, like Olivia Rodrigo to play, he said NAH! I’ll stick to my iPad… It’s amazing how technology has replaced things that were so integral in our childhood lives.
