Day #5212 (Sat., Apr. 13, 2024) – Tree + Branch + Trunk
I thought I would try a new method to bring the tree branch down in our driveway. Since it doesn’t have many leaves on it, I thought it might be rotting, so I attached a rope to it and tied the other end of the rope to my Camry trunk. Well, as I sped off, with my helper Bobby in the back seat, I heard something snap. Hoping it was the branch, but no such luck, the rope broke. We’ll have to try another method to take this branch down.
Our efforts with the branch proving to be in vain, Bobby and I decided to have Daddy/Son Chat Day #9 and go to Dunkin Donuts to eat and chat. Bobby wanted to go here today as opposed to Duck Donuts as this has been a haunt of Katie and her school friends. Bobby had a chocolate dipped donut, and a large hot chocolate. He was still hungry, so I went back to get him a strawberry donut. The hot chocolate was too hot to drink (see photo to the left), so I took the top off. Still too hot to drink by the time we went to leave, we took it home with us.
While at Dunkin Donuts Bobby and I chatted about the Donut King and lessons that we can learn from him. For those who are not familiar, he came to the US with nothing, and through hard work became a millionairre with a chain of donut franchises in California. Alas, he blew it all gambling in Vegas. Lessons? Don’t give up, and work hard. Be self-employed and an entrepreneur if you want to get rich. And DON’T GAMBLE!
Katie went over to Tinsley’s house for a sleepover this evening. We were wondering if we would get a call from her to come pick her up, but we did not, so she’s obviously spending the night.
