Day #5239 (Fri., May 10, 2024) – Last Full Friday In North Carolina!
This is the last full Friday in North Carolina. On next Friday we will be packing up the van and heading for Courtenay in beautiful British Columbia! We will be spending next Friday night at an Air B&B that we have booked in West Virginia!
Bobby is still home sick today. His room looks pretty sparse these days (see photo to the right). He perked up later in the day and actually found time to build a mud wall in the front yard. Katie was not feeling well, and planned to stay at home, but got some energy later on this morning and I dropped her off at Phillips at 10 am. I then went to the Chapel Hill library to pick up a book that my wife reserved for Bobby, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.
We have three propane tanks for our two grills. The grill that we bought, which is currently on the truck to Canada, and the one that we got from our neighbors who moved. I thought I might be able to return them to Lowe’s but they don’t take back propane tanks. I guess that makes sense. A guy in line asked me what I wanted for them. I was not sure, so we went outside to see how much a new one costs. He phoned his buddy, and his buddy told him that the go for about $20, but he didn’t need any. I thought I would do a good deed and just gave them the three tanks as he was trying to help me out. My “good deed” for today. I told him to pay it forward… 🙂
We’re not sure what will happen to Ginger when we leave. She will probably just continue to come over to whoever takes over our house, considering them her new “family”.
