I dropped Bobby off at Glenwood this morning. On the school sign I see that there is yet another Teacher Work Day this week. I wonder if we will have as many of them up in Canada? I don’t remember ever having a Teacher Word Day when I was going to school.
I stopped off at Allergy Partners this morning to see about getting my shot vial and fill out paperwork as suggested. When I got there Deb told me that there was actually not enough shot liquid to take with me, and suggested that we wait till we get to Canada and then let her know where we need paperwork sent to, so we’re going to do that.
I checked online car price websites CarMax and Carvana this morning. I also called up Mark Jacobson Toyota and talked to Gina. She said bring the Camry in before 3pm and they will have Mark Barnett evaluate it and cut a check the same day. She said that they lowest they pay for a car is $500, so if I can get $500 for my ole’ Camry, I’m in… I actually would like to have it in Courtenay, but there is a hassle in getting it there and the kids are embarrassed to be seen in it.
This afternoon I picked up Bobby at school for a 2 pm dentist appointment. Bobby’s class no longer has a TA (i.e.: Teaching Assistant), so there was a bit of a problem getting him the message that I was waiting to pick him up. Crystal walked over and delivered the message. We arrived at the dentist 10 minutes late, and both had a small cavity fixed in no time.
When we arrived home Bobby’s little action figure arrived via Amazon (see figure to the left). It’s similar to the $1 wall crawling “sticky” figures that we used to pick up at the Dollar Store, only fancier!
My wife picked up Katie from school and drove her to the orthodontist to have her braces adjusted. We have apparently overpaid $500 so we are getting that back. Is the fact that this amount and amount I could get for my Camry the same a coincidence? Hmmm… On the way home they bought Chinese food at Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro.
Dave, the gardener who is at our new home, reached out via our real estate agent to see if he could stay in the studio for a few more months. Sorry Dave, there are no rooms left at the inn…
