We are staying in a nice Air B&B. It’s nice to be able to look out the window and see the goats in the pasture (see photo to the left).
We got notice early this morning that the money transfer we initiated yesterday went out this morning. So, if the past is any indication of timing, the money should be here tomorrow.
We met with the “public notary” this afternoon to sign the mortgage papers. The company is “Daryl Robbins”, but the public notary handling our case was Kelsey Lamb. Other than the fact that they got the location of the property and the zip code wrong, everything seemed to go off without a hitch. No sign of Aleasha, the girl we have been in contact with up till now. Amanda seems to think that she is an admin of the company and does a lot of the office work.
This afternoon I drove to Campbell River. I just needed to get out into the fresh crisp air and sunshine to unwind. I found the property with 130 acres for sale that I saw the other day. It is at 7522 Island Highway North in Lantzville for $1,999,000.
I had a “Teen Burger” at the A&W in Campbell River. Frosted root beer in a mug! I asked the lady at the counter about their poutine and she said that theirs was the best of all the fast food versions around town, but I didn’t have it.
As I was making a left turn in the parking lot a lady was frustrated with my progress and cursed at me from her car. Another car honked at me as I made a turn onto the highway. I think that they saw my license plate and don’t like foreigners. I picked up some groceries at the “Great Canadian Superstore” in Campbell River and they would not let me take their basket of my groceries to the car. The security guard said that I needed to purchase some additional bags for $0.35. I opted to make three separate trips of food to the van to get around this purchase. I talked to the guard about how Canada had changed in the 30+ years since I lived here. He told me that you would not believe the amount of shoplifting that takes place in their stores.
Trump was convicted in the Stormy Daniels case today. We watched the news reports this evening.
We cannot find Bobby’s Nerf basketball. The last time I remember seeing it was in the house in Kellogg, Montana. Katie was in her bedroom with Batman all day. She emerged this evening to watch the news about Donald Trump.
