Day #5271 – (Tue., June 11, 2024) – Neighbor Tara!

Maurene came over to our place last night and turned off the lights and out Binx came from it’s hiding place under the cupboards. It put up a fight, so she called for my wife to help her put it into a cage. I would have loved to have seen that on a video! I guess that Binx was so excited that it peed all over Maurene! Yeech…

We received a text message from Tara, our new neighbor from Nova Scotia, who lives across the street. She used to teach elementary school here and is eager to meet with my wife to talk all about it. She told us that she has a “goofy” white lab and a cat named “Charlotte”.

I’m having all kinds of problems linking my Canadian RBC account with my ROTH IRA in the US. According to ETrade, we might not be able to do it and might have to rely on wiring funds, which would be a pain. Stay tuned…

My wife had some furniture from IKEA delivered this afternoon. The kids and her spent quite a bit of the afternoon assembling it, and it is still not done!

This evening the whole family went for a trip to COSTCO! We started off with an inexpensive meal at the food court, hot dog and a drink for only $1.50 … what’s not to love about that. My wife got her picture taken so she now has a COSTCO card as well.

We then wandered throughout the store looking at the various items for future purchases, and purchased some items tonight as well. The kids enjoyed riding around on the cart (see photo to the left). We picked up a “gaming chair” for Bobby, along with a plushy that is holding some “Ramen Noodles”. We also got some frozen cheese pizzas, many loaves of bread (which can be frozen), and lots of snacking foods. One of the employees helped us load the gaming chair into the van, which was nice.

I was tired after all this walking today. I went to bed early, but the rest of the family mustered up the energy for a walk around the neighborhood. Bobby rode his scooter!
