Day #5288 – (Fri., June 28, 2024) – Debate Cake!
Today seems to be another continuation of yesterday, another lazy day! I plan to get stuff done around the “Barn Suite” today, that will make me happy… 🙂 First up for today, laundry! Next up, organize my bathroom cabinet.
My wife and daughter put a little table and mirror in the entry way to the “Barn Suite” this afternoon (see photo to the right).
Also this afternoon our neighbor Gail was out in her backyard with her dog Jasper. Bobby wanted to go see him, so there is a gate from our property to hers. Maple followed. A bit of an altercation dog wise, but nothing too serious.
Two great pieces of news on the economic front today. My wife got a bonus of $1000, which will help with the move. In addition, we got back our $8000 deposit for the house as well. Both into the bank account for some worthwhile purchases in the future.
Katie made a cake today with the theme being the Biden/Trump Debate last night. She was trying to make Biden, but it looks more like Trump (see photo to the right). Delish nonetheless! The calls for Joe Biden to step down are growing more frequent and louder after last nights disastrous debate. Hard to see how this whole thing is going to work itself out.
We are having a bit of a problem with the oven in the “Main House”. It’s a much better oven and much quicker than the one we had in Chapel Hill. That’s good, but the problem is that it is so good it burns our food. Perhaps put the food in for have the temperature and twice as long?
We are also having deer problems! They are getting into our garden and eating some of our plants, so it looks like we will need an automatic gate opener/closer for our second gate! They are about $600… I wonder if I can rig something simple up for cheaper?
