Day #5291 – (Mon., July 1, 2024) – Canada Day Parade!

My wife took the kids to the Canada Day Parade this morning (see photo to the left). I dropped them off in the van, and drove to Walmart to do some shopping. I looked for “Butterscotch Ripple” ice cream, but they didn’t have any. I saw that they had some online, but not in the actual store. I’m not sure what’s up with that, but at any rate, it is not as common as it was when I was a child.

Also at Walmart I looked at the various coffee machines. I’ve been using instant coffee in the “Barn Suite”, but I can see that I will need to get a coffee maker at some point. We left our old coffee maker in Chapel Hill.

Next up was Quality Foods Courtenay down the street for a cup of coffee. I learned that the coffee shop upstairs is in ADDITION to the restaurant that they have below! I didn’t realize that. I was wondering why the coffee shop only had special food items, not the variety as the Quality Foods in Comox.

I should mention that as I was driving up to Quality Foods Courtenay I noticed that all the handicapped parking spots in front of the store were full. I started to question whether this “Law of Attraction” was working or not… At that point I realized that the BEST SPOT was available (see photo to the right), right at the front! Boy this “Law of Attraction” stuff really does work!

When my wife and kids were ready to go home I picked them up at the A&W near the Great Canadian Superstore. They picked up some food to take out.

I fixed my wife’s bike this afternoon. I had to realign the tire to the rim, and blow it up. There was also an issue with the chain being off the sprockets that needed to be addressed. She took it out this afternoon for a ride and no problem.

The Supreme Court made a landmark decision today that Trump and Presidents are IMMUNE from prosecution for their “OFFICIAL ACTS” as President. I guess it boils down to what are “OFFICIAL ACTS”, which is yet to be decided…

This afternoon I took the mower out and mowed our main pasture area again. Bobby helped me, but was not to happy about it. Katie was sick. At least it’s done now. Apparently there will be less of a need to mow lawns once the heat of the summer arrives.
