Day #5299 – (Tue., July 9, 2024) – Maple Attacks A Deer!
I called up Island Honda this afternoon and they said that the license plate holder will be in tomorrow, not today. I will make an appointment to have it installed once it comes in.
My wife took the kids to their violin/viola teacher for a lesson this afternoon. Both kids love her. They did some “fiddle music” today, and Katie said that she is allowed to do adornments, which is basically “adding extra music notes to the song”. You can see Bobby “doing his thing” in the photo to the left.
There were more deer in our yard today. Maple actually lunged at one and tried to bite it. Maybe this memorable event might scare them off, giving us a bit more time to get the fencing issue resolved.
It looks like the deer are getting in through a section of the back gate that a tree fell on. We will have to get a portable chain saw and cut it down. I was looking at some rechargeable Ryobi ones at Home Depot this evening. We might get one of those as we can use the same batteries as our Ryobi lawn mower.
While at Home Depot I picked up a couple of “Bungee Cords” that I hoped would work to attach the cooler to Katie’s bike, but the hooks on them were too big. Next up, a much longer cord that the two 24″ ones I got today. I’m not too worried about getting these cords that don’t work out. They are a bit like nails or screws, there is always some use for them. I also picked up some Wasp & Hornet spray at my wife’s request (see photo to the right).
As I was driving home through the Anderton Road way I came across a deer. The deer are very plentiful here… There is a saying here that they are so plentiful and polite that they use the crosswalks…
