Day #5321 – (Wed., July 31, 2024) – Adorning The Staircase

Katie is back into her artwork. You can see her latest creations in the photo to the right.

The contractor from Campbell River, who originally set up a meeting for Tuesday morning thinking it was Wednesday morning, came to look at automating our gate this morning. He said it would be closer to noon than 9 am, but arrived at 10:15 am, go figure. Anyway, he didn’t have the electronics guy come with him like he said, but just took some measurements and he was off… I don’t think we will be going with him… 🙂

Orca Electrical & Construction sent me a rough sketch of the proposed garage mods. Anthony also told me that West Coast Custom Gates is the gate company from Parksville that he recommends. There is some mention of a $250 deposit, and getting a draftsman to provide detailed specs, so I will need to talk to him tomorrow about that.

My wife and Katie worked on adorning the wall of the staircase up to the second floor (see photo to the left). Current plans are to get two white recliners and a white sofa for the television room.

Today Bobby practiced his violin and he and his mother worked on a puzzle together. Tonight my wife took Maple for a walk and Bobby rode his bike. At the end of the street Bobby got off his bike and went into the woods for a bit. They could hear Brodie and his brother playing behind their house. Funny they don’t invite Bobby over… What’s up with that?

We were expecting guests today, but that got delayed. My wife’s friend has a son who is 19 years old and is taking some sort of a “flight” exam. It’s stressing him out so he is studying for it now. They will probably drive up from Victoria once he has taken it.
