Day #5330 – (Fri., Aug. 9, 2024) – Katie The Stable Worker
Our neighbor Caroline took Katie to the farm where she teaches horseback riding this morning. The farm is run by Linda, and she also boards a number of horses. She also has four dogs (see photo to the right). They asked Katie if she wanted to be a stable worker, and she was agreeable to that, so we’ll see how it goes.
We started to move the belongings out of the garage this afternoon. The racks at the back of the garage are now on our patio, protected from the elements by our house roof. We have started to move boxes into what used to be our recycling center. If we have any leftover belongings that need to be protected, I have a huge tarp that I purchased at Home Depot yesterday. Anthony told me that he will bring a tarp to protect the garage doors once they are removed.
Later this afternoon I finished mowing the lawn in our main pasture area. It was sure in need of a “haircut”. I fed the grass clipping to the chickens and they were so excited (see photo to the left). They would peck at the grass and use their feet to kick it around, looking for bugs I presume.
Bobby and Ethan have been arguing as of late on what to play on Roblox and Minecraft. I guess they were online with a couple of other boys today and they were really mean to Bobby. We’re trying to figure ways to cut down on this type of behavior and not outlaw online activity together.
Katie and Bobby gave me a viola/violin duet this evening.
