Day #5334 – (Tue., Aug. 13, 2024) – Orca Arrives!
Looking over past Baby-comments.com posts I see that two years ago today I first came up with the thought of moving to Vancouver Island. It was Victoria initially, and now two years later here we are in Courtenay!
Anthony from Orca Electric & Drywall showed up at 9 am this morning to insulate and drywall the garage. He brought Chris with him, who is another master electrician. Today they will wire the garage to accommodate the extra electrical plugs (see photo to the left) and the welding station. They made great progress and left early in the afternoon. The next step is to see if the inspector will show up in 24 hours to inspect his work. If not, the insulation of the garage can begin.
My wife took Katie to her orthodontist appointment this afternoon. I stayed in the main house in case Anthony or Chris needed to turn the power out again (as they did this morning). Bobby pretty well stayed up in his room and played video games the whole time. I saw him leave with a couple of waffles & Nutella spread and never saw him again… I secured little magnets to the backs of the Roblox clay figures I’m making, so next up is to give them an acrylic finish and then hopefully they will be solid enough for Bobby to play with them.
Amazon delivered our new rug to our front door (see photo to the right). I heard the doorbell ring but nobody was there. They must have rung it and took off…
While my wife and Katie were out they got some modeling clay at Value Village. If Bobby takes to this new Roblox magnetic background & clay figure set I’m making, this clay will come in handy.
The chickens got a special treat today! I was making a rice & lentil dish in the Instant Pot and happened to burn it. I suspect because I didn’t stir it first? As a result, out the mess went to the chickens! Boy did they ever take to it!
There are a ton of blackberries out where the chickens are (see photo to the left).
