Day #5338 – (Sat., Aug. 17, 2024) – Deadpool & Wolverine

We paid Anthony 1/2 of the amount due for the work he is doing on the garage this morning. This was the agreement before the drywall goes up. He put the moisture barrier up and will start on the drywall tomorrow. Yes, he works on Saturday and Sundays! It should be done in a couple of weeks at this rate, and I think we will get the guy he knows to paint it for us…if the price is reasonable.

I took the kids to see the Deadpool & Wolverine movie at Landmark cinemas this evening (see photo to the left) for a combined Daddy/Daughter #148 and Daddy/Son Day #84. The show was at 6:15 pm, and got out at about 8:30 pm. I didn’t know that it was a “Restricted” movie or I might have done some more investigation before I agreed to take the kids to it. The language and innuendos were all over the place, but fortunately no nudity. Superhero movies of the past were all PG so that families could attend them together. I will make careful note of the ratings before I take them to another superhero movie.

Bobby got the combo with popcorn, soft drink, and a candy, which he loves. Katie only wanted a large “Fruitopia”, which is Canada’s version of fruit punch. Bobby picked up a package of sour gummies that they shared throughout the movie. I ordered tickets online so I only needed to show the usher my QR code, but I had to pay for the food and drinks. The cashier forgot to ask me for my Landmark discount card, and I when I showed it to him he said sorry, he should have asked before payment. This was a learning moment for the kids about customer service…

The movie was quite out there with super heroes appearing with various back stories and switching in and out of multiverses. Bobby helped to explain what was going on in the drive home.
