Day #5352 – (Sat., Aug. 31, 2024) – Making Roblox “Male” Guest!

Bobby and I had Daddy/Son Day # today. Instead of the “usual” McDonalds, last night I went to Thrifty Foods to pick up some frozen fries so that we could make them in the Ninja “air fryer” in the “Barn Suite”. I figure “air fried” is better than “deep fried”. I also picked up a parfait for him, some fruit punch juice packs, and some “gummies”…

I went down and got him and brought him to the “Barn Suite” so I could give him the “Grand Unveiling”, the magnetic Roblox backdrop that I made for him! He said that he liked it, but didn’t know how to express it. We started off watching a bit of the movie “Deadpool” while he ate, but then he said we can do those Roblox clay figures now. You can see him and I collaborating on “Roblox Guest” in the photo to the left. Bobby said that in the early years, and were a boy, this was the character that you got when you logged in under “guest” mode. He seemed to really like doing this, but had to leave at 4 pm as he had a play date with our neighbor Brodie.

Katie and my wife went shopping this morning. Katie picked up a nice coffee table for her room (see photo to the right).

The play date at Brodie’s house went great today. Bobby seems to really like him, so it’s great that they are in the same class at Huband Elementary this year. I went for a drive with my wife and Katie later in the day and Brodie and his brothers were taking a walk with their dad. Brodie waved at us… Seems like such a nice and happy kid.

Katie’s in a different phase of her life, so it will be interesting to see how her friend situation will work out this year. Since she’s older, she is more picky in who she wants to hang out with. Bobby’s fine with just going next door and playing tag and hide & seek, but Katie wants some friends who are into art, etc. My wife and I may end up doing a lot of driving picking her friends up and dropping them off at various locations, including our house. We’ll see.

Anthony installed the trim on the garage this afternoon and won’t be back until I have finished painting it. First up, I need to do the finish work on the trim… There is a bit of a debate right now on whether to use “flat” or “eggshell” white for the ceiling. “Flat” won’t show imperfections, but since it is a workshop with a lot of dust and potentially “smoke”, is “eggshell” a better option? Stay tuned…
