Day #5357 – (Thu., Sept. 5, 2024) – First “Full Day” Of School!

Today was the first “full” day of school in Courtenay for the kids! My wife took them to school this morning and picked them up afterward. We’ll probably split this duty once we get another car. Bobby indicated that he had a rough day, but I think it’s just a bit of nervousness over all the new “stuff” that one has to deal with in a new school. Katie seemed to have the same sentiment.

Bobby has completed the “Lego Like” airplane that he bought recently (see photo to the right).

I drove out to LifeLabs this morning to get some blood work done. While there I got a call from Courtenay Pharmacy that my prescription was ready.

In regards to the garage, I spent the day cleaning up the caulking on the trim work and testing out the primer. I laid down the drop cloths, but I think that there is going to be a big problem moving the heavy “Little Giant” platform ladder on top of it. I might need to just position the drop cloth under where I am painting at the time.

Take a look at Katie’s new “Shark” costume” (see photo to the left). It might be her Halloween costume this year.

Later this afternoon my wife took the kids to viola/violin class. Our neighbor at “Grey Gables” dropped their daughter Bowen off at our house as she had an appointment she needed to attend, so Bowen tagged along. She is in grade six and Bobby and her enjoyed spending some time together. When I was done my garage work for the day I went into the house and they were enjoying a bowl of ice cream together at the dining room table.

Here’s what we know about the “Law Class” that Katie is taking:

Teacher: Mr. David Janz, OVERVIEW: Introduction to Law takes you to the scene of the crime, to the crime lab, into the heads of investigators and through the legal process from arrest to trial. You will get a chance to hone your sleuthing skill, working to solve a crime. You will research methods on how police solve crimes and catch criminals. Class will walk, step by step, through every stage of the criminal justice system and we will debunk a few myths about the police and the courts in Canada. Topics include Criminology, Criminal pathology (profiling), Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Science, Arrests, Searches, Trials, and Sentencing.
