Day #5359 – (Sat., Sept. 7, 2024) – Huband Bear Sighting

My wife took Katie to the Black Creek Fall Fair this morning. Here’s a blurb about it: The Black Creek Fall Fair focuses on celebrating rural and agricultural lifestyles.

Low and behold, Bobby is sick again! He threw up multiple times today and is complaining of his head hurting. He was better later on this evening, which is nice… Let’s see how things go tomorrow. Hopefully we will not be back into the “missing school” scenario again like in Chapel Hill.

This afternoon my wife and I got to priming the garage in earnest. With the paint sprayer I picked up at Home Depot last night, it’s a much easier job! It would have been a real tough haul to prime the garage with a roller, especially the ceiling. One of the issues that we are facing is all the paint that goes onto the floor… I guess that it’s only natural as you spray the ceiling some of it will fall down, but it sure is a shame to waste all that primer.

I took a break this evening to go to Thrifty Foods for some supplies. On the way there I saw a bear (see photo to the left). A bunch of cars had stopped on the side of the road half way from Huband Elementary to the Island Highway. At first I thought it was an accident, but when I saw everyone staring off into a field, and some with cameras I knew that something was up. Here’s a short little video that I took of the bear moving it’s way through the field.

While at Thrifty Foods I picked up some milk, oranges, and tangerines. I also picked up some milk chocolate for Katie and a dark chocolate for my wife for all the work she has been doing on the garage. Remember “Wunderbar“? I used to love them as a kid in Nova Scotia… I picked up one of these for Katie as well.

Katie is really excited that things are working out with Finley, the girl she met at orchestra camp. She has been introducing her to all her friends and they apparently like her company as well.
