Day #5385 – (Thu., Oct. 3, 2024) – Best Friend Anika!
My wife went to Campbell River after dropping Katie off at Vanier this morning to get her “BC Services” and “BC Driver’s License”. There was quite a bit of a delay in this as she needed to get her “Permanent Residence Card” in the mail first!
Why didn’t she drop Bobby off at school today? Well Bobby is home sick. At least he got a bit of a break from all that running… He didn’t complain about his legs hurting today.
It appears that our hens have effectively stopped laying eggs. I can’t recall the last time that I picked up an egg. The rooster has started to exhibit strange behavior as well. Instead of sleeping up on the roost with the chickens, or even in the nesting area where they lay their eggs, he slept in the corner of the coop where they go to the bathroom… (see photo to the left). Go figure!
Anika, Katie’s current best friend in Courtenay, was back at school today. She is the 10th grader who came from Lake Trail Middle school.
The Silicone Popcorn Popper that I purchased from Amazon came today (see photo to the right). People are raving about it. You just add some popcorn and put it into the microwave. I wanted to get it and try it out to see how effective it would be for the kids once we start having movie nights in our newly insulated garage!
Katie is studying about serial killer “Robert Pickton” in law class these days… Nice to see that schools are teaching our children about such wholesome subjects!
No news yet about Halloween this year. If Katie was younger, and we were still in Chapel Hill, we would be frequenting all the “Spirit Halloween” stores!
