Day #5389 – (Mon., Oct. 7, 2024) – Bobby Drives The Van!

Anthony arrived bright and early this morning with the garage door guy to put the light fixtures on the garage and have the garage doors put back into place. Small world, the garage door guy is originally from Hilden, just outside Truro. By day’s end both jobs were done. Anthony is going to give me a tour of the various circuit breakers so that I can shut them off off except the one to the projector we plan to get for the kids to watch movies in the garage. In this way wandering eyes and actions will not let the various saws and equipment turn on…

I stopped off at Thrifty Foods this afternoon as my wife wanted some rye flour and yeast. Raspberries were on sale with a whopping $6 off, so I got her some of those as well (see photo to the right).

A couple of days ago Bobby mentioned how he would like to learn how to drive the car, and I guess that he asked his mom this as well. When I looked out over the balcony in the “Barn Suite” I could see the van stopping and starting and originally thought that there was something wrong with it, till Bobby emerged. This reminds me of the days when he was only a few years old and I could not keep him out of the old green Camry!

I sold $15,000 in NVDA stock today… We need to pay for the newly insulated garage and of course our new 2008 Camry Hybrid! The money cleared ETrade this evening, and I sent it to my wife’s US Bank account, to eventually transfer to our Canadian bank account… A long winding process, but hopefully we will have the funds by Friday so that we can pick up the 2008 Camry Hybrid before my wife and Katie go to Vancouver for the long weekend.
