Day #5412 – (Wed., Oct. 30, 2024) – Perdita Felicien

You can see the design that Katie drew for Bobby’s pumpkin last night in the photo to the left. You can also see Katie’s pumpkin in the photo to the right, including one with the internal “light on”.

The dishwasher repair guy came out today to look at our dishwasher. Bobby accidentally fell on it the other day, and it needs a new door. He’s going to check on the price, but I’m sure it won’t be cheap…

Katie had a “flex day” today in which students can catch up on stuff. She chose to spend it at home. My wife went to Costco later today to pick up Halloween treats for tomorrow, and groceries as well.

I picked up Bobby at Huband this afternoon. On the drive home he was telling me how much better he likes school here at Huband. He has an extra hour of recess, more friends, and they don’t do “assessments” all the time…

Bobby went to the school library today to explore The History Box sent from the Canadian Museum of History. It had 25 authentic and reproduction artifacts related to Canada’s history, from the earliest times to the present. Bobby and his friend Gavin were assigned to research a luggage tag that belonged to Canadian hurdler Perdita Felicien. She used it when traveling to and from the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. What a great hands-on learning experience!
