Day #5431 – (Mon., Nov. 18, 2024) – Hail Away!
Katie went to school today but Bobby is home sick. “Schoolitis” perhaps?
It started to hail this afternoon, first time we have experienced this since moving to the Comox Valley. You can see a view of it from the “Barn Suite” in the photo to the right.
Katie got a great comment on her latest video by @mycatistheuser. She said that “I just watched the whole thing and THIS IS SO FREAKING ADDICTING!! Your art style is soooo silly and cute, your world and characters have got me so so so interested in them, and your personality is really lovely! I’m so grateful for this ending up in my recommendations. I can’t help but imagine a character who is the complete opposite, and he/she likes to buy expensive casual clothes, dress really fancy and all that stuff but spends very little on decorating his/her armor haha. I wonder why you’re not popular yet. You have just earned a new subscriber and somebody who waits for more stuff from you.”
I picked up Katie at orchestra class this evening and we went for a drive around Comox. She didn’t want a coffee, but we chatted, so this is effectively “Daddy/Daughter Chat Day #19”. She was expressing her frustration that Annika and others were not her ideal friends, and I asked her what aspects of Tinsley or Leah or Annika or someone famous would be a perfect friend to her. I tried to be more of a listener than a suggester during this particular chat, so hopefully that helped. I do understand her mind, and what she is going through, but she’s unfortunately bringing all this misery and sadness upon herself. As Abraham Hicks would say “Don’t be so hard on yourself and learn to be more joyful about the little things in life”.
We’re thinking of getting Bobby a mini bike for Christmas. I spent quite a bit of time this evening weighing the various options.
