Day #5432 – (Tue., Nov. 19, 2024) – Shanti’s Birthday Party!

“Our First Vancouver Island Snow”! We woke up this morning to snow on the ground, and roof tops (see photo to the left)!

We have a “Bomb Cyclone” starting up here this evening on Vancouver Island! A bomb cyclone, also known as explosive cyclogenesis or weather bomb, is a rapidly intensifying storm where the central barometric pressure drops by at least 24 millibars within 24 hours. This rapid drop in pressure leads to strong winds, heavy precipitation (rain or snow), and can cause severe weather conditions. It’s called a “bomb” because of the explosive nature of the pressure drop, similar to how a bomb detonates quickly and with great force.

Bobby and I watched some videos about octopuses on YouTube this evening as I was waiting for Katie. I read in an article that if man failed to be the dominant species on planet earth the octopus would take over. They are that smart…

I drove Katie to Shanti’s birthday party on “Back Road” this evening (see photo to the right). It was pouring rain! We could not get into the building as you needed a key, and Shanti was not answering her text messages, so Katie asked me to drive her home. Shanti IM’d on the way back that she had been changing, but Katie told her we were almost home. Katie was 50/50 about going to the birthday party anyway as she was starting to stress out that she didn’t know anyone there.
