Day #5436 – (Sat., Nov. 23, 2024) – Gorilla Tag!

There was a Christmas Market at Huband School today, but the kids didn’t want to go, so nobody did.

My wife and Katie went “thrifting” instead. They went to four thrift shops and the Dollarama. My wife got a rain jacket with long sleeves that fit her at the Salvation Army thrift shop. Katie got some all weather pants that are perfect for when she is on the swing in the cold and rain of Courtenay.

My wife also picked up a couple of frames for some “dogwoods” (see photo to the right). The one on the left was a leather carving that we picked up at the NC State Fair 15 years ago. The one on the right is Daisy’s painting, the kids viola/violin teacher.

Bobby says he wants a VR Headset for Christmas. Ethan is getting one to play “Gorilla Tag”… I looked into it, and it appears he will be getting more exercise, so perhaps it’s not a bad thing… Gorilla Tag is a VR game where you run, jump, and climb using only your hands and arms. There are no buttons, sticks, or teleportation involved. You push off surfaces to jump and squeeze them with both hands to climb. The game has four main modes: Tag, Infection, Hunt, and Paint Brawl. You can play with friends or other players online. You can definitely burn calories playing Gorilla Tag! Since it’s a physical VR game that requires you to move your arms and body, it can provide a good workout. You’ll be jumping, climbing, and running around, which can increase your heart rate and help you burn calories. Many players have reported getting quite a bit of exercise from playing VR games like this one. Just make sure you have enough space to move safely and take breaks if you start to feel tired. It’s a fun way to stay active!
