Today is Day #6 of the Advent Calendars. The kids got chocolate, but no big gifts today. Sometimes it’s good to have “little things”, it makes the “big things” so much sweeter.
We set up the projector in the garage and watched our first movie this afternoon. We were thinking of watching “The Boy Who Would Be King“, but Disney+ is not hooked up to the projector, so we ended up watching the Netflix show “That Christmas” (see photo to the right).
I asked Copilot to tell me about this movie in a way so that a 9-year old boy couldn’t wait to see it. Here’s what it said:
Imagine a magical Christmas Eve where everything can happen, including the craziest adventures you could think of! “That Christmas” is a super fun movie filled with heartwarming stories about families, friends, and the most unexpected holiday surprises.
There’s a family of talking dogs who get into mischief while trying to save Christmas, kids building the biggest snowman ever, and even a Christmas tree that might just come to life! The characters are hilarious, the animation is amazing, and there’s a ton of laughs, fun, and excitement. It’s like a big snowball of festive fun rolling down a hill, getting bigger and better every minute.
You’ll love the colorful scenes, the funny moments, and the magical feeling that makes you want to jump into the screen and join the adventure. It’s the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and feel the magic of Christmas. 🎄🎅
Hmm… Do we see a few “hallucinations” here?
At any rate, it was great to put the projector through the motions. Even Maple joined us, but she was more interested in moving around showing people the tennis ball in her mouth. I was afraid that she would knock over the tripod as one of the legs was flimsy. My wife had to leave every so often to take calls about skiing tickets next weekend.
Oh, and I made popcorn for the kids to munch on courtesy of the new microwave we bought at Walmart specifically for this purpose. We propped it up on the mini fridge that we brought down from the barn.
I would call the first screening in the garage a success, but Katie didn’t really like the couch she was sitting on so we might need to improve upon that. Even though it was midday, and cloudy, some light was coming in through the windows, so we need to get some curtains or blinds. I think having new speakers on each side of the room would also help with the audio quality.
My wife ordered a new tripod for the projector this afternoon and we are thinking of getting a combination pool and ping pong table for the garage as well.
